| Content | Hess thanks Meyer for his support and advice and plans to send a request to the Rockefeller Foundation via the Academy in Vienna. He intends to design the programme in such a way that Millikan cannot glean any details, as he fears that Millikan might implement his ideas before he does. Hess expresses scepticism about the success of the application and criticises the treatment of European scientists by American institutions. He reports on progress in his work and plans to publish results in the autumn. He also mentions improvements in his health following a leg injury and the visit from his stepson from America. |
