| Content | Hess writes Meyer he received a letter from him with a bill and paid it. He didn’t receive some of his old publications that he was expecting (Mitteilungen für Institut für Radiumforschung). He writes that Dr Lind was visiting him and they talked a lot about Vienna and informs Meyer that R. B. Moore is going to visit him soon, while he is in Europe. Hess also writes that they made Moore believe, he wants to stay in the U.S., so that he can easier become Consulting Physicist of the Bureau of Mines. Hess informs Meyer, that he managed to establish communication between the Carnegie institution and him and Schweidler. He asks Meyer to send the missing phone numbers to the Department of Terrestrial Magnetism. Hess is pleased that Meyer received his Easter package and informs Meyer that he will soon send another package. He was holding a speech about his latest work in Baltimore and plans to send Meyer a copy. Lastly, he writes about people that attended his speech and about Millikans experiments with radiation. |
